This site was started since other sites like it are sorely lacking in real information about airsoft. I hope this can be a treasure trove of knowledge for both the new players and the veterans. For example, instead of having lengthy FAQs on every single airsoft-related website, why not just point them here?
The key to making this project work is going to be user interaction, that's why it's a Wiki. That means that anyone can edit it or add to it at anytime. The second key is that this site has to be based around fact, not opinion. Saying an FTK always comes with gears is a fact. Saying Tokyo Marui sucks and you should buy a Classic Army, is an opinion.
What can be posted?
Anything related to airsoft is okay to post here. Some examples:
- Information and history about airsoft manufacturers and retailers.
- Frequently asked questions about replicas.
- Guides on how to do your own work on a mechbox.
- Information about national and international teams.
- After action reports about operations hosted world-wide.
- Guides on how to put together gear such as CIRAS vests, MOLLE equipment, how to make home-made MAGPUL's, etc.
What can't be posted?
- Advertisements for anything. Knowledge about retailers is fine, information about sales retailers are having is not.
- Opinionated statements; "OD sucks, it's all about MARPAT."
- Anything that doesn't directly relate to information about airsoft.
I don't know how to contribute!
That's fine, go to this page on Wikipedia.org and read the FAQ on how to edit Wiki articles. If you want to create your own page after you've made sure a similar article hasn't already been created, read this article, also on Wikipedia. Remember that this site needs to be based off of fact, not opinion; and that good grammar is always a good thing.
